I am very fortunate to be a father of 10 month old twins, a boy and a girl. I get to experience something rare and phenomenal on a day-to-day basic: the social interaction of two brand new, unprogrammed human beings. It wasn’t until 7 months that they actually knew “what” the other one was. Even at 10 months, I don’t think they are fully sure. They way they look at each other you can tell that they kind of haven’t worked out whether they are seperate or not. It is quite an amazing thing to observe.
Today the twins were playing with there toys on a blanket. Sequoia picked up a red rubber ring and Ezequiel took it off her. He is much stronger than her so could easily pull the ring from Sequoia’s hand. Sequoia didn’t complain, she simply picked up the green ring that was lying next to her and carried on playing. At this stage I stopped watching and went to the bathroom. When I came out Sequoia had the green ring in her left hand and the red ring in her right and Ezequiel wasn’t interested anymore.
The moral to the story is that when we let go we end up with everything.
